He is one of the most frustrating players- bags of ability and pace but the cunts awareness and football brain in the box is hopeless. The amount of times he hangs back on the penalty spot when he should be attacking the six yard area is unreal

He's started very well tonight. Been put wide right abd is staying out there and looking a threat.

Great atmosphere once Everton turned up.
That Gueye for a £7m release clause looking the buy of the summer.
Not sure how Arsenal didn't score at the end. Might have been a pen in there somewhere too.

Not that Valencia is a football genius but what was the point of loaning him out and then spending £20 million on Ayew, play in the same position and not much difference ability wise. What a waste of 20 mill.

Got stuck in and didn't let arsenal walk all over them.

Put in a good 70+ minutes

Chased everything some good linkup...mostly wide right and did his job...

Would be a sub at WHU...or emergency striker...

You can't judge Ayew yet.

Ritchie...

Agreed...Ayew ain't better ...so far been a lot worse...

Will await judgement after more fitness and games...

I'd rather have Valencia right now...

Re: Valencia starts for Everton tonight
I imagine if any West Ham fan was offered Ayew instead of Valencia last season I am sure they would have agreed.
He was injured in the first game so is playing catch up at the moment.
We could do with a goal or two from him this week though
